Diversity Brings Challenges

You are now aware of the benefits of having a diverse workforce. But have you ever wondered what could be the challenges associated with it. Think, If it is easy for organizations to handle a variety of people working under same roof?
What do you think are the challenges associated with diverse workplace?Well,if I am asked that, I would take into consideration my personal experiences and those of many immigrants and come to a point that Diversity is a  Challenge not only for the employers but equally for the employees.
Let’s have a glimpse at some of those:
-Single Work Ethic: It is very difficult to agree people with diverse   ethnic origin and cultures on a single work ethic. Some might not agree. As is the visible case in many organizations.

-Workplace Authority:  Creating understanding and professional agreement among employees of distinct countries and religious traditions who have different views about women and workplace authority is another challenge.
-Trust and CommitmentIn today's diverse workforce, generations of employees simultaneously, consisting of elders returning to the workplace, Baby Boomers, and members of Generations X and Y. The altering lifestyles, work styles, needs, goals and demands of these age-diverse workers offer challenges to building trust and gaming commitment.
-New Work Configurations:  Interaction of diverse employees in new work configurations such as virtual teams and strategic e-business partnerships is a challenge.

The video shows how the employees resist the hire of an employee who is different from them in terms of sex, ethnicity, religion and customs. They are reluctant to work with them. This not only is a major threat to organizational success, in fact leads to  demoralization of the employees in many cases when their beliefs and thoughts are not valued and respected.
